Meet The Georgia Team

Sab Prakash

Co-President

Sab Prakash is a junior attending Walton High School. He has played the violin for 7 years. When he was in New Jersey, he participated in the CJMEA Intermediate Regional Orchestra, CJMEA High School Regional Orchestra, and was selected for the NJMEA High School All-State Orchestra. After moving to Georgia, he participated in GMEA All-State 9/10 Full Orchestra and was selected as an alternate for Violin for Governor's Honors Program. Other than playing the violin, Sab loves to sing, learn new languages, watch dramas, and chat with his friends.

Turner Sahadevan is currently a junior at Walton High School. He has been playing the viola since sixth grade and takes lessons from Cindy Beard. He has been very involved in Orchestra throughout his tenure and he strongly values community and friendship as a pillar of Orchestra. Outside of the viola Turner enjoys cooking, gardening, fishing, whittling, and being a chill guy.

Leo Leger is a sophomore attending Walton High School. He has played violin since the age of three and has played in the Walton High School Chamber Orchestra since freshman year. He has also attended GMEA Allstate since 7th grade. In his free time he likes to sleep, hang out with his friends, debate, and play ping pong.

Jonathan Zeng is a sophomore attending Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia and has played viola for 4 years. He is member of the Walton Chamber Orchestra. He has also participated in the GMEA All-State Orchestra for two years and district honors orchestra. He loves playing volleyball and listening to Kpop. His favorite Kpop groups are Newjeans and Aespa.

Mira Saraswat is a rising senior at Walton High School. She is currently 2nd chair violist of Walton’s Chamber Orchestra, she has participated in Honors Orchestra 2 times, and she participated in GMEA All-State 9/10 Full Orchestra. Not only does she play the best instrument (the viola) but she also loves to play golf, watch shows, and try different kinds of food.

Julia Ding is a junior at Walton High School and has played the violin for 6 years. Julia has participated in the Dekalb Youth Symphony Orchestra and GMEA All-State Orchestra. In her free time, she likes to listen to music (beabadoobee, Laufey, NewJeans, etc.), bake, and spend time with friends and family.

Amy Qi is a sophomore at Walton High School. She has been playing violin for 5 years and has participated in the GMEA All-State Orchestra, GMEA Honor Orchestra, and GYSO for three years. She also served as the concertmaster of GYSO for one year. In her free time, she likes watching Studio Ghibli, listening to Beabadoobee, and traveling.

Sahana Iyengar is a violist who has been playing since she was 4 years old. Aside from playing her instrument, she enjoys rowing, painting, taking gorgeous pictures of herself, and singing (sometimes). As a member of Mockingbird Melody, she hopes to spread joy to others by doing the thing that she enjoys most, playing viola. In addition, she hopes to foster a tight knit community between all of the musicians in the organization. Sahana is extremely excited for what is yet to come!

Matthew Sha is a current junior at Walton High School. He has been apart of Walton’s Chamber Orchestra since sophomore year and has 2 GMEA Honor Orchestra acceptances. Currently, he is learning the Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto to perform in his senior year. Other than violin, he enjoys studying the classics and playing basketball.

Brinda Gururaj is a junior at Walton High School. She started playing the cello in 6th grade. She loves playing with different youth orchestras and ensembles outside of orchestra. Besides playing cello, Brinda enjoys listening to music, playing drums, and playing with her dog in her free time.

Sana Verma is a senior who attends Walton High School and has played the viola for seven years. She is a member of Walton’s Chamber Orchestra and has had the opportunity to perform in a variety of settings, including a wedding ceremony. Outside of orchestra, she loves reading, painting, and ice dancing.

Brady Zhou is a junior at Walton High School. He has played violin for 7 years and has played in a few GMEA all state orchestras. Brady likes eating any chinese food, doing chemistry, and gaming.

Warrina Lan is a 10th grade cellist at Walton High School. She was accepted into 2022-23 and 2023-24 Allstate Orchestra, as well as being a member of 2023-24 GYSO. In her free time, Warrina likes to draw and hang out with her birds.

Jack Landrum is junior at Walton who has played the violin for 6 years. He has participated in the high school GMEA all state orchestra and passed ABRSM grade 8 for piano with distinction. In his free time he enjoys playing video games and tennis.

Elena Baumgartner is a sophomore in Walton High School for 2024-2024. She played violin for 2 years when she was five and has been playing viola for 4 years since sixth grade. She has participated in the Capistrano USD Honor Orchestra, Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra in the Philharmonic and Symphonic orchestras, the GYSO Symposium group, the GYSO Honors String Quartet, and the GMEA Allstate middle school group. Other than playing viola, Elena enjoys making brownies, being with her friends, and watching movies.

Minjun Lee

Minjun Lee is a senior at Walton High School with a deep passion for music. As an AP Music Theory Student of the Year, he has demonstrated strong academic and curiosity in the study of music. Minjun was selected as a piano major for the 62nd Governor’s Honors Program (GHP), showcasing his passion and dedication for music. The Walton Chamber Orchestra recently performed his original composition “Nostalgia” as part of the GMEA Composition Competition. A committed performer, Minjun played first violin in both the Walton Chamber Orchestra and the Honor Orchestra (District 12). He is also an arranger and composer for the Tritone Youth and Chamber Orchestras, where he studies composition under Zac Lavender. In his free time, Minjun enjoys learning new instruments—currently the clarinet and cello—and analyzing harmonic progressions.
